Jimmy Jam Weighs in on Michael Jackson - New Album (comeback)

Michael Jackson has reportedly been hard at work on a brand new album between travels to Dubai, Las Vegas, and spots in Europe. Fans and industry insiders are wondering whether Jacksons new material will prove to be the kind of sales blockbuster hes had in the past, like historic multi-platinum releases Off The Wall and Bad.

Producer Jimmy Jam Harris, who with partner Terry Lewis worked on all but two of Janet Jacksons albums, also produced Scream, Janets 1995 duet with Michael.


Harris says that Jackson isnt motivated by breaking sales records when he goes into the studio nowadays. He explained: I dont think a successful comeback should be based on statistics, I think making music will be the thing that makes him happy, you cant put the cart before the horse. You cant sell records until you make the songs. And I think for him, making the songs at this point is going to be the fun thing for him. And obviously the reward for him selling records is wonderful. I know for a fact, because I know him pretty well, that the statistics, he already has those, I mean, hes got records that will never be broken again. And now in this point in his life its really about making great music. 

There is no word on when Jackson will release a new album, but results of a British poll reported last week shows that the eccentric superstar should command healthy sales figures. PopScores, a monthly quantitative measurement of the emotional connection between artists and consumers, shows that 82 percent of Jacksons fans are ready to buy the new material he releases.

Se é vero vuol dire che é maturato molto... A lui é sempre importato che i suoi dischi vendessero tantissimo

Ma magari, sarebbe anche ora.

Ora dimostrerà se è sul serio un artista fuori dal normale.

Anche se queste sono solo deduzioni di Weighs.

Se fosse vero sarebbe una notizia magnifica...sperem!!!!

Certo che i genitori di questo chiamarlo Jimmy Jam mi sembra proprio una cattiveria...

beh che a Michael Jackson non interessino le VENDITE ne dubito!
Dubito che un artista non guardi nel suo portafogli ma "solo" a cantare e far uscire album. Poi con le spese degli ultimi anni, qualche soldino in più non gli guasterebbe sicuramente, anche se di soldi ne ha sempre.

vorrei vedere come ad un artista non interessino i soldi, le case discografiche, sponsor e tutto il resto la pensano nello stesso modo?

Sarabbe forse meglio dire che a Mr Jackson non interessano più di tanto le vendite ma piuttosto far uscire il nuovo album e rendersi "immortale" in quel campo come lo è da 40 ANNI!

Ti assicuro che esistono questi artisti............

sicuramente ci sono gli artisti che pensano MOLTO MENO agli interessi, ma questo non significa che non esista l'interesse per i liquidi.

sono sicuro che questo album tanto atteso venderà il DOPPIO di Invincible

Sì ma non deve partire come qualcosa di estremamente commerciale che debba vendere a tutti i costi.


La musica deve essere di qualità, le vendite arrivano soprattutto grazie alla promozione.
