At the MJNI "Killer Thriller" party today, Michael spoke out for the very first time about the Sony situation, calling Tommy Mottola "the devil", and saying that he needs to be terminated.
One fan, Jacinta, made a comment on his speech:

"He was REALLY laying into Sony - I could not believe my ears.

You have to understand that throughout the show, EVERYBODY was dissing Sony. Michael was sitting in a VIP box to the right of the stage, and so he could see and hear very well when we all shouted "SONY SUCKS! SONY SUCKS!" during every interval. At one point, Robin mentioned something about What More Can I Give, turned to look at Michael and said, "The single which Sony REFUSED to release!" Michael knows that we know that he knows what's going on, totally.

So after a couple of hours, indeed a whole week of hearing from fans how much his nemesis is hated, Michael Jackson had the platform he needed to say exactly what is on his mind.

All these months I have wondered what the hell has been going on. Why singles weren't being released; why there were no new videos. MORE than that, I have wondered what on Earth Michael Jackson must have been going through.

Tonight he walked on stage and shared his pain with the people who love him the most. He looked into the crowd of people who had flown from every corner of the globe and spoke out.

So YES, he said that "Tommy is evil". YES he said that, "Tommy is the Devil." And YES he said that we need to keep fighting until he is "terminated". But Michael is hopeful because he shared with us the fact that he will release a box set with a couple of new songs, and be free of Sony. And he promised us that the best is to come.

It was shocking, but certainly no revelation. We all know how much indeed Sony does suck! Michael has asked us to "burn the tabloids" on previous occasions. Well no doubt Tommy would be gladly thrown onto the pyre!"

Another fan, Deggie, from the alt.music.michael-jackson newsgroup, said the following (like a transcript of Michael speaking, but not in Michael's exact own words):

"I have left Sony and now I am free... Sony are gonna release one/two box sets with two new songs... yeah, two new songs that I wrote AGES ago... I could have given them any two songs, I don't care.. Tommy Mottola is an evil, evil man, and we need to fight him until he is terminated."

"Can you please stop videotaping... I'm not supposed to say this... Oh, I don't care... I'll say it... when Tommy Mottola and Mariah Carey divorced, Mariah came to me crying, and I had to hold her because she was so distraught. She said, Michael, Tommy is a very evil man, he only cares about money, so I had to comfort Mariah because she was crying so much."

"Sony just care about making money... Being the big artist that I am, I made Sony BILLIONS OF DOLLARS... they are greedy and they deserve to be punished. They are angry at me... but now I am free, and the best is yet to come."

Later, an official report from MJNI Hotshots stated the following:

"An exuberant crowd welcomed Michael Jackson to the stage of the Equinox in Leicester Square, London, on 15th June.

Michael, who had watched two hours of live performances from tribute artists at the MJNI Fan Club bash from his VIP box at the side of the stage, thanked the performers for their talent and the fans for their loyalty.

He then began an unprecedented verbal assault on the appalling tactics of Sony Music who he accused of trying to "destroy" the INVINCIBLE album because they couldn't stand the thought that the artist had "out-thought" the company.

Michael told his fans that he only had to do one more album for Sony, and that would be a box set with two new songs. "I can give them any old songs," he said, to laughter and rapturous applause. "I'm a free agent now," he continued, "but I walk away with 50% of Sony Publishing. They're very angry with me."

Jackson described Sony CEO Tommy Mottola as "evil," "the devil" and said that his way of doing business had to be "terminated".

All this was met with cheers from the 2,200 fans who were packed into the Equinox.

Prior to his appearance on stage, fans were treated to a special 6 minute video that MJNI had commissioned, outlining the unique influence that Michael Jackson has had on successive generations of recording artists.

Earlier in the day, Michael Jackson made a personal appearance at the Demonstration of Fan Support outside the offices of Sony Music. The demo was organised by MJNI and was fully supported by Angel, Planet Jackson and 40 other fan clubs from around the world. Hundreds upon hundreds of fans were packed into Great Marlborough Street to witness Michael's extraordinary contribution to the proceedings.

On the top deck of an open-top London Sightseeing bus, Michael responded to chants of "Sony Sucks" by putting his thumbs up and, later, joining in with the chants. Central London was brought to a standstill as thousands of people vied for a closer look at the King of Pop.

Gloria Haydock, President of MJ News International said after the Equinox event: "Today has been an extraordinary day in the world of Michael Jackson. He has delivered a heartfelt message to the people who have remained loyal to him for so many years - his fans. We are so proud that he chose to do it at our event; it has been a dream come true for MJNI."

"I really don't like to talk much," Jackson had said, playfully, before he launched into his incredible indictment of Sony Music's underhand behaviour.

Meanwhile, thousands of adoring fans and scores of policemen drafted in to deal with the mania have proved, once and for all, that Michael Jackson remains a force to be reckoned with."

Marc Schaffel, the Executive Producer of Michael Jackson's "What More Can I Give" project, has sent an open letter to the chairman of Sony Corporation, Mr. Noboyuky Idei, in Japan. The letter urges Sony and Mr. Idei to release two charity singles - or to at least let another record company release them. The songs which were completed last October, one in English, and the other in Spanish "Todo Para Ti", include over 35 of the top recording artists from around the world. Many Grammy award wining people have been involved in this; the English version was produced by award winning Michael Jackson, and the Spanish version by award winning K.C. Porter.
Hoping to raise tens of millions of dollars from each release worldwide, proceeds would be used to benefit the victims of the September 11 attacks on the USA, and many children charities worldwide. Mr. Schaffel feels the current political situation between Sony and Michael Jackson may be preventing the singles from coming out for the one-year anniversary.
The singles, which Sony originally agreed for release after the tragic events of 9-11, were postponed last November due to Sony's decision not to release them at the same time of Mr. Jackson's "Invincible" album. Mr. Schaffel says he will also call upon famed attorney Johnny Cochran to look into this situation as he has heard Mr. Cochran and his associates will also be investigating Sony's handling of Mr. Jackson's "Invincible" album.
Mr. Schaffel feels that time is of the essence, and if the singles are not scheduled for release now they will not be ready to be released for the anniversary. According to Schaffel, "Michael Jackson's last charity project 'We are the World' has currently raised over 65 million dollars for charity. I feel these two records combined with the proper marketing could do the same. I would like to see Sony at least have the decency to let a neutral third party record company release the songs, and to have Sony grant the permission for their artists to be released, as other labels were willing to do from the beginning for Sony."
Mr. Schaffel says he has been told that given the blessing from Sony, and the clearances for their artists, one of the other labels that have offered to release the songs would do so immediately. Everyone who has heard the two songs feel they are both number one hits, and they will raise a lot of money for good causes. Schaffel states several charities, who would be potential recipients have called wanting to lend their support in pushing Sony publicly for the releases, and several Michael Jackson based fan sites have offered support, even going as far as offering to boycott Sony if they are not willing to let the projects continue.

Un GRANDE DILEMMA si fa strada nella mia mente...quando e se uscirà il terzo (che palle!) greatest hits con le due canzoni nuove...lo compreremo??? In quel caso faremmo piacere esclusivamente alla Sony e a Tommy Mottola...comprare ancora una volta dei mega hit che posseggo già, solo per avere due pezzi di vecchia data concessi controvoglia da Mike per libearsi dagli impegni con la Sony, beh...un po' mi ruga! Credo che la cosa migliore per lasciare la Sony a bocca asciutta sia scaricare le due canzoni inedite da internet, e magari mandare qualche ionica e-mail alla Sony, dicendo "col cavolo che vi faciamo guadagnare sulle spalle di Mike! Le due canzoni inedite le scarichiamo da Internet, poi compriamo in massa il prossimo album per un'altra casa discografica!". Credo che Michael approverebbe, mi sembra parecchio incazzato!

Un dubbio, lo ammetto, mi sorge spontaneo...
Fino a pochi mesi fa Mttola era uno strettissimo collaboratore di Michael, i due si scambiavano frasi dolci come miele...anche agli ultimi American Music Awards Michael mi pare abbia ringraziato con tutto il cuore Mottola e la Sony...
Poi di colpo, si trasforma in un mostro, nel Male personificato, nel Diavolo in persona...addirittura Mike rivela che Mariah Carey dopo il divorzio gli avrebbe telefonato disperata, dicendo che Tommy era un uomo terribile!
Posso crederci, ma Mariah e Mottola si sono separati un bel po' di tempo fa, e Mike mi pare abbia continuato a scambiarsi moine con Mottola per un bel po' di tempo!
Il suo atteggiamento sembra...non arrabbiatevi...un po' opportunista, non credete? Certo, avrà tutte le ragioni, ma tirare in ballo cose personali mi sembra poco elegante e "fuori tema"...
Comunque, sono contento che si sia svegliato!
Forza Mike, ho sempre pensato che tu fossi un bel po' bugiardino e furbacchione, e per questo mi stai pure più simpatrico!

..perchè mai sia successo tutto ciò:
la Sony ha boicottato MJ e Invincible perchè,avendo il re deciso di andarsene,voleva salvare la propria immagine,evitando così che i media un giorno potessero dire che si sono lasciati sfuggire una superstar come MJ,giusto?
Perchè MJ avrebbe detto con più di un anno di anticipo dalla fine del contratto che voleva andarsene?
Forse la Sony prima dell'uscita dell'album o subito dopo voleva delle garanzie da mj sul rinnovo del contratto? Ma è legale ciò?
Non bisognerebbe aspettare la data di scadenza per poi rinnovare il contratto?
Se la Sony è andata avanti col boicottaggio vuol dire che era arcisicura che mj non avrebbe cambiato idea.Ma perchè mj non voleva rinnovare il contratto,per non essere costretto a fare altri 5 dischi nei prossimi 15 anni,visto che più volte lo stesso mj aveva detto che voleva smettere(non credo che non si trovasse bene con la Sony,visto anche la fusione del '95!)?
E chi ci dice che passando ad un altra major non li ripetano lo scherzetto?Credo che l'ideale sarebbe farsi una propria etichetta per essere più libero,o no?

poi mj è da bad che dice che è l'ultimo album... e ha continuato a farli....
un po' din bugiette obbligate dal mondo dello spettacolo, come le moine per mottola...
non credo sia così semplice avere una casa discografica propria
anche la maverik di madonna se non mi sbaglio si appoggia ad una'altra ,major... poiù o meno come credo la mjj faccia con la sony

All'uscita di Invincible c'erano delle buonissime premesse, lo dimostrano le 5 differenti cover e le special edition.
Cosa è successo davvero ke ha fatto cambiare tutto così radicalmente?
Xé MJ ha deciso di andarsene così repentinamente? E soprattutto cme cazzarola l'hanno saputo alla Sony? Potrebbe essere ke nn ha voluto rinnovare il contratto cme dite voi,ma mi pare tutto così strano, soprattutto all'uscita di un cd cme Invincible,costato un delirio di soldi e aspettato x6anni... Tra l'altro un cd cn tutte le premesse xessere l'ennesimo succeso...:hehem
