Oliver Hunt from Manchester asked why there was nothing on our website about MJ. You’re absolutely right Oliver, there ought to be.

But let’s see, what can one say that hasn’t already been said, over and over and over… So Madonna has been in tears? Really.. I’ve not been in tears, but it has been an extremely sad 24 hours.

I was glad we were in rehearsals today for the summer shows and were all able to process our feelings with each other. When I heard the news my first call was Nick, then Roger.

To say he was the greatest entertainer of his generation…Well yes, perhaps he was. He made one of my favourite albums, ‘Off The Wall’, and ‘Thriller’ is pretty fucking amazing and even ‘Bad’ had a renaissance with me a month or so ago.

It’s all terribly sad. The rumours, and the court appearances. It’s been sad and depressing and frustrating for years now. I’ve been so sick of the jokes for years, but this morning? Not for me thanks.

It was a surprise to get the news, but maybe less surprising than if he had turned up at the 02 and rocked the house, played all the songs we wanted to hear and left London in one piece.

His music and his legend will live on. His life is an inspiration to us all but also a caution. I’m very very sorry he’s not with us anymore, but for my Madonna tears I’ll probably have to wait until ‘Rock With You’ catches me unawares one evening, alone on a motorway somewhere.. By then I’ll be really missing him.

Ma vediamo, cosa si può dire che non sia stato detto, ridetto e ripetuto... Così Madonna è andata in lacrime? Seriamente.. Non mi sono messo a piangere, ma sono state 24 ore estremamente tristi.

Ero contento che oggi saremmo stati a provare per gli shows estivi e siamo stati tutti in grado di confrontare i nostri sentimenti l'un l'altro. Quando ho sentito la notizia, prima da Nick, poi Roger.

Dire che sia stato il più grande intrattenitore della sua generazione...Bè si, forse lo era. Ha fatto uno dei miei album preferiti, 'Off The Wall', e 'Thriller' è dannatamente bello e persino 'Bad' che ho riscoperto un mese fa o giù di lì.

E' tutto terribilmente triste. I pettegolezzi, e le apparizioni in tribunale. E' stato triste e deprimente e frustrante per anni. Mi ero scocciato degli annosi scherzi, ma stamattina? Non per me no!

E' stata una sorpresa ricevere la notizia, ma forse meno sorprendente che se fosse apparso sul palco allo 02 e avesse fatto impazzire tutti, e avesse eseguito le canzoni che volevamo sentire e avesse lasciato Londra in un colpo solo.

La sua musica e la sua leggenda sopravviverà. La sua vita è un'ispirazione per noi ma anche un avvertimento. Sono molto, molto dispiaciuto che non sia più con noi, ma per le mie lacrime alla Madonna dovrò probabilmente aspettare finchè 'Rock With You' mi prenda senza preavviso una sera, da solo su una autostrada da qualche parte... Allora mi mancherà davvero.

Anch'io sono stata una grande fan dei Durans e mi fa piacere leggere che almeno uno di essi abbia giustamente ricordato Michael.
Davvero toccanti le sue considerazioni riguardo "Rock wih you"...

neanche io ho pianto all'inizio...le lacrime sono arrivate riascoltando la sua musica parecchi giorni più tardi,...un dolore mi ha pugnalata il cuore, improvvisamente...
