Il giudice Rodney S. Melville ha respinto ieri la richiesta di immediata assoluzione per Michael Jackson, presentata dai legali della popstar al termine del giro di testimonianze dell'accusa. Ora toccherà alla difesa portare in aula i propri testimoni e, a quanto pare, il lavoro dei legali di Michael, accusato di molestie sessuali ai danni di un minore, sembra essere iniziato nel migliore dei modi.
I primi due testimoni chiamati a deporre in aula hanno negato di aver mai ricevuto le "attenzioni" della popstar. Wade Robinson, 22enne ballerino australiano, ha confermato di aver dormito almeno una ventina di volte in camera di Jackson nel 1989. "Giocavamo ai videogame, ingaggiavamo lunghe lotte con i cuscini o semplicemente parlavamo. Ma mai ho subito alcuna molestia" ha dichiarato Robinson. Che ha poi smentito quanto dichiarato da un teste, chiamato a deporre qualche settimana fa dall'accusa, che sosteneva di aver visto Jackson e Robinson fare la doccia insieme.

Sulla stessa linea anche il secondo intervento, quello di Brett Barnes, anch'egli australiano. "Ho conosciuto Jackson all'età di cinque anni durante un suo tour in Australia - ha raccontato Brett -, in seguito sono andato a Neverland e ho dormito circa dieci volte nella sua camera e nel suo letto. Non è mai accaduto nulla di strano". Anche Barnes ha smentito le deposizioni di quanti hanno testimoniato di averlo visto in atteggiamenti intimi con l'artista: "Hanno dichiarato il falso infangando il mio nome", la sua replica. (luc)

" Santa Maria (California), 6 maggio 2005 - La difesa di Michael Jackson ha messo a segno un altro bel colpo: due giovani australiani, che la pubblica accusa aveva tentato di far passare come vittime delle attenzioni particolari del cantante, hanno negato di avere mai subito violenze.

Dopo aver chiesto invano al giudice Rodney Melville di prosciogliere la popstar, sotto processo per abusi su un minorenne, gli avvocati difensori di Jakson sono partiti al contrattacco.

Per dieci settimane i procuratori distrettuali hanno cercato di far passare il cantante per un molestatore di ragazzini, sulla base della denuncia dei genitori di un tredicenne spesso ospite nel favoloso ranch di Neverland.

In aula, però, sia il ventitreenne Brett Barnes sia il ventiduenne Wade Robson hanno smentito di aver dovuto subire abusi quando, da adolescenti, frequentavano la casa di Jackson e spesso dormivano con lui.

'Il signor Jackson l'ha mai molestata?', ha chiesto l'avvocato Tom Mesereau a Robson, ex ballerino prodigio ed ex coreografo di Britney Spears.

'Assolutamente no', ha risposto. 'Il signor Jackson l'ha mai toccata in modo lascivo?', ha insistito il legale. 'No, mai', è stata la replica. Al processo, invece, una donna che aveva lavorato come cameriera a Neverland ha raccontato di aver visto Robson sotto la doccia con il cantante , circostanza negata dal giovane.

Il ballerino ha poi riferito di avere dormito l'ultima volta nello stesso letto del cantante quando aveva 13 o 14 anni. Una reazione stizzita alle insinuazioni di presunte molestie ha avuto anche Barnes, che pure ha ammesso di aver dormito con Jackson, ma entrambi erano sempre vestiti con biancheria intima e pigiama, mai nudi, ha assicurato.

Una ex dipendente della popstar ha assicurato nella sua testimonianza di aver visto il cantante mentre toccava il fondoschiena al ragazzo, ma lui ha smentito.

'Assolutamente no e le dico che se fosse accaduto, non sarei qui oggi', ha risposto all'avvocato che gli chiedeva conto delle insinuazioni. 'Stanno gettando il mio nome nel fango', ha aggiunto, 'ed è una cosa che davvero non mi piace'.

La settimana scorsa già Macaulay Culkin aveva testimoniato a favore di Jackson e la sua deposizione aveva fatto grande effetto. Per tentare di difendersi dalle infamanti accuse, il cantante spera di poter fare affidamento su altri suoi grandi amici. I suoi avvocati hanno chiesto che siano sentiti in aula, tra gli altri, Elizabeth Taylor e Quincy Jones"

Sulle pagine più recenti in inglese invece ci sono già le news sulla prima madre (credo di Robson) che ha confermato quello che ha testimoniato il figlio e cioè che nonn ha mai visto comportamenti inopportuni di MJ e che Neverland è un posto meraviglioso. Good news!

Sta testimoniando Joy Ronson, la madre di Wade. Ha detto che Neverland è il posto più bello del mondo, dove ti dimentichi tutti i problemi e che non è mai accaduto nulla di innapropriato.

Nel contro interrogatorio Sneddon ha fattointendere che lei avesse interesse a accontentare MJ perchè la sua amicizia avrebbe aiutato la carriera di Wade. Lei ha risposto che la sua amicizia con MJ era basate su altre cose... l'accusa ha obiettato e il giudice ha accolto.

Sneddon ha chiesto alla Robson perchè non ha lasciato che le autorità interrogassero il figlio nel '93.
Lei ha risposto: "perchè temevo che venisse manipulato" lui: "temeva delle manipolazioni da parte delle autorità e non da Jackson?!!" lei: "No, perchè MJ lo conosco"

Anche la sorella di Barners ha testimoniato che MJ è una persona fantastica.

SANTA MARIA, Calif. — Two mothers testified at Michael Jackson's trial Friday that they trusted Jackson enough to let their sons sleep in his bed and were convinced that no molestation ever occurred.

"I've known Michael for a long time. I've spent many hours talking to him about everything. I feel like he's a member of my family. I trust him. I trust him with my children," said Joy Robson, whose 22-year-old son, Wade Robson (search), testified earlier that he was never molested by Jackson.

Also praising Jackson was Marie Lisbeth Barnes, whose son, Brett Barnes (search), testified that nothing improper happened when he shared Jackson's bed.

"I trusted him implicitly," she said of Jackson. "He's a very nice person. You just know when you can trust someone."

Robson was critical of the mother of a boy who accused Jackson of molestation in 1993 and received a multimillion-dollar settlement from the singer. Robson said she had been at Jackson's Neverland Ranch with the boy and his mother but spoke to them only a few times.

"My impression of (the mother) is she wanted to be mistress of Neverland," she said. "She would order the staff around like she owned it. My impression of (her) is she was a gold-digger."

Under cross-examination, District Attorney Tom Sneddon (search) then asked whether Robson was jealous of the woman "because she replaced you."

"Absolutely not," the witness replied.

Joy Robson defended Michael Jackson, saying there had never been anything inappropriate between him and her son or her daughter. She said Jackson "created trust easily." He arranged for her and her family to move to California from Australia in 1991, got her a green card, bought her a car, and paid her through his MJJ Productions for three years. She denied there was a quid pro quo involving her son's availability to sleep with Jackson.

Robson did make an usual observation about June Chandler, mother of the boy who got a $20 million settlement from Jackson in 1994. She said, "My impression of her was that she wanted to be mistress of Neverland. She was a gold-digger." As in a TV courtroom drama, that statement drew audible oohs and aahs from the audience.

Joy Robson's daughter Chantal also testified in Jackson's behalf, as did Brett Barnes' mother Marie Lisbet and his sister, Karlee Barnes, 26. Each of the younger women turned out to be better witnesses, but the prosecution still managed to score points as they got the sisters to recount how many nights their brothers slept with Jackson unaccompanied. Karlee Barnes estimated a total of 365 nights over two years -- a shocking number by any standards.

"My brother wanted it," she said forthrightly, even as she denied that anything sinister or illegal ever occurred. It's hard to know at this point what the jury believed.

Of all the troubling topics raised so far at this trial, one thing remains most curious: that mothers regularly took their children out of school so they could spend time with Jackson on tour or at Neverland. Not once so far in the testimony of these recent witnesses has anyone even mentioned school. The Barneses indicated that they traveled with Jackson for six months in 1992 and six months in 1993. Today Brett Barnes is an out-of-work casino worker living at home with his parents. He has no college education.

You wonder as you listen to these parents, what were they thinking? And what did their children do all that time at Neverland? The steady refrain is: play video games, watch TV, stay up late, go on the carnival rides, visit the zoo. And even the latter turns out to be problematic. The Robsons all confirmed that Jackson and little Wade liked to throw small-sized rocks at the caged lion to get him to roar.

What no one has said at all yet: Michael read to us, or we learned about history, or nature or the stars. Not one Neverland visitor has mentioned a book as of yet, except for a collection of pornography.

inoltre è saltato fuori che i barnes hanno viaggiato con mj tipo 6 mesi nel 1992 e 6 mesi nel 93, saltando un sacco di scuola

Sanger è l'altro avvocato di MJ.
Non so se ho capito bene ma sembra che Sneddon sia andato in ascandescenza senza motivo ed ha cominciato ad agitarsi e a urlare. Fermarsi per cosa poi... non lo so
