AMY Macdonald spent hours online yesterday trying to secure tickets for her childhood hero Michael Jackson's upcoming concerts in London.
This Is The life singer Amy, 21, is currently in Lisbon where she's performing a showcase after getting to the top of the Portuguese iTunes chart this week.
Bishopbriggs-born Amy even got up at the crack of dawn to ensure she would get the valued briefs for Jackson's series of gigs at London's 02 stadium from July to September.
Writing on her blog from her hotel room, she said: "I don't need to start work until 12pm and thought I'd have a nice lie in.
"However I checked my email and saw I had been successful in my michaeljacksonlive registration, so I had a code for a pre-sale ticket. So I got up at 6.45 this morning and have been sitting here ever since."
Like many Jackson fans, Amy found that the online ticketing system was problematic. Amy said: "There's this little annoying window that says your wait time is 15 minutes or more.
"I had this 15 minutes thing for about 40 minutes and it finally got right down to a few minutes and then it said there was an error.
"I was raging. I had to start all over again and I'm back to 15 minutes. I don't really hold out much hope as I think they tickets will probably be gone by now, but I'm still trying."
Amy's adoration for Michael stems from her experiences watching the Thriller star as a child.
She even named her dog after him.
She said: "I absolutely love Michael Jackson. It was the first gig I ever went to. My parents took me and my sister to see him atWembley when I was young. And my beloved dog Jackson was named after him."
Amy was eventually successful and got her tickets. She did, however have something else to worry about, after a rash appeared on her body.
She said: "I fear I have chickenpox.
"I never had it as a child, but I've started to get itchy red patches.
"There's not loads of them but there seems to be a few more every couple of hours. I'mstill holding out that it's just a weird rash."
Amy is due to play Paris at the end of this month and has also agreed to judge a competition for aspiring singer-songwriters looking to make a career out of their talents.
The Shure Creative Award asks entrants to upload an original song to the website, before April 17 and expert judges and public votes will select a top 10. Amy decides the overall winner.
First prize is a one-year Professional Diploma in Songwriting course at the ICMP, Europe's leading school of modern music, worth over £5000.
