Heal the World Reject Estate Settlement

Last month the Estate settled its lawsuit against the Heal the World Foundation and made it clear they were more than happy with the charity using Michael Jackson’s name. However, court documents obtained by MJNA show things seem to have turned rather sour.
In court documents filed over the weekend… Nina D. Boyajian –an associate of Greenberg Traurig(the guys representing Branca and McClain) says Mellisa Johnson — on behalf of HTW… is refusing to sign documents required to finalise the settlement.
Just days after the public announcement confirming both parties had settled, HTW lawyer Edgar Pease contacted Boyajian stating that he has “concerns” with some of the documents drafted by the Estate. In addition, Pease copied the “concerns’ to Howard Mann violating their confidentiality agreement.
Mel Wilson, officer of HTW, sent a letter to the Estate stating that they rescind and reject the settlement agreement. Wilson states that the reason is because Melissa Johnson did not have the authority to sign for HTW and that the Board of Directors did not have enough time to approve the agreement.
The Estate of Michael Jackson will file court documents May 19 to enforce the settlement agreement that Melissa Johnson signed on behalf of HTW.
Il mese scorso la tenuta fece la sua querela contro la Heal the World Foundation e rese chiaro che erano più che felici che l’associazione usasse il nome di Michael Jackson. Tuttavia, atti giudiziari ottenuti da MJNA mostrano che le cose sembra si siano trasformate in modo piuttosto aspro.
Nei documenti presentati alla Corte nel weekend... Nina D. Boyajian – socio di Greenberg Traurig (i ragazzi che rappresentano Branca e McClain) dice di Johnson Mellisa — per conto di HTW… si rifiuta di firmare i documenti richiesti per ultimare l'insediamento.
Solo giorni dopo l'annuncio pubblico che confermava che entrambe le parti erano insediate, l’avvocato di HTW Edgar Pease ha contattato Boyajian affermando che egli ha "preoccupazioni" per alcuni dei documenti redatti dalla tenuta. Inoltre, Pease ha copiato le "preoccupazioni” per Howard Mann che ha violato il loro accordo di riservatezza.
Mel Wilson, della HTW, inviò una lettera all'Estate affermando che essi recedono e respingono l'accordo di transazione. Wilson afferma che il motivo è perché Melissa Johnson non ha l'autorità di firmare per HTW e che il Consiglio di amministrazione non ha abbastanza tempo per approvare l'accordo.
L'Estate di Michael Jackson presenterà i documenti alla Corte il 19 maggio per far rispettare l'accordo di transazione che Melissa Johnson ha firmato per conto di HTW.
