Ditemi se è ok...
Dear Radio Team,
My name is Francesca Guerriero, and I’m writing to you to discuss an important matter.
I know I am NO ONE to tell you what you have to do, but I would like to receive explanations on this “MJ CASE”.
I’ve heard that you won’t play Jackson’s songs on your radio station.
So, the question is...Why?
I know about the allegations recently made against Mr Jackson, and I know that child molestation is a serious stuff…
But you can’t ignore what Mr Jackson has done for the music world.
All of his songs, all of his videos, they have made HISTORY of MUSIC.
And we can’t delete that, although there is such a serious case going on.
We shouldn’t judge his private life; what we only have to care about is just his music.
What I’m trying to say is that if Michael Jackson’s music gave us strong feelings in the past, why shouldn’t it do it now?
The music isn’t changed at all, it’s still the same music that made us dance years ago.
It’s still the music that made us say “Hey, that man is a genius”.
It’s still the music that made us cry, or laugh.
Now, I think that the music has a principal duty: to TEACH how to live.
Would you really STOP playing WE ARE THE WORLD? Or...What about HEAL THE WORLD or EARTH SONG?
I grew up with those song, and it’s ‘cause of them if I’m a better person, today.
I’m not only asking respect for the man who is Michael Jackson, because I really believe in his innocence, or however in the “Innocent ‘till proven Guilty” thing.
I’m also asking respect for the music in itself.
I hope you’ll change your mind, and you won’t deprive the world of the beautiful music that this man created with the help of God.
Sincerely,
Francesca
