Nuova causa per Michael Jackson

MJPortal è stato informato che la disputa finanziaria tra Michael Jackson e Marc Schaffel, riguardante i prestiti che Schaffel ha fatto a Michael e tutto il lavoro per i programmi su Fox, non è stata risolta dal fratello di Michael, Randy, e dai rappresentati della popstar. Le nostre fonti ci hanno confermato che in settimana Schaffel promuovera' un' azione giudiziaria contro Jackson per riottenere il denaro prestato.

Senza dubbio questo portera' molte preoccupazioni e speculazioni tra i fans riguardo la posizione di Schaffel nell' imminente processo contro Jackson. Ancora una volta vi chiediamo di aspettare e vedere cosa succede e non alimentare pettegolezzi fino a quando la causa non sara' chiusa e fino a quando non si capiranno gli effetti che potra' avere sul processo che iniziera' a fine gennaio.

Speriamo che sia chiara la necessita' che i due giungano ad un accordo pacifico al piu' presto possibile. In passato MJ ha infatti affrontato molte di queste cause e sfortunatamente ha perso o transato gran parte di esse.

Nov. 16, 2004 — A former associate and confidant of Michael Jackson is suing "The King of Pop" for alleged breach of contract and other agreements, alleging Jackson is broke and has had problems with drugs and lavish spending, ABC News has learned.

In a draft complaint obtained by ABC News, the former associate says he is owed millions by Jackson but that Jackson's representatives have refused to pay him, saying Jackson is broke. The complaint also alleges that Jackson has had problems with drugs and lavish spending.

Jackson, 46, is set to face trial in late January on 10 charges that include felony conspiracy with 28 overt acts involving child abduction, false imprisonment, and extortion. The conspiracy charge against Jackson refers to his alleged attempts through five associates to quiet the alleged victim and his family after the British documentary "Living With Michael Jackson" aired early last year. Jackson has pleaded not guilty.

One of the unindicted alleged co-conspirators is Marc Schaffel, a reputed pornographer producer who sources have previously told ABC News, dealt with the alleged victim's family after they appeared in "Living With Michael Jackson." Today, ABC News has learned, Schaffel is filing a lawsuit against Jackson in Los Angeles Superior Court that alleges that the singer has had problems with drug abuse, excessive spending and that his representatives say he is broke.

According to the lawsuit, Schaffel is seeking more than $3 million, alleging Jackson has failed to pay him for work done for Fox TV specials and has not repaid money Schaffel lent him for shopping sprees and purchases for friends.

Tales of Money Problems, Drugs and Spending Sprees

In his lawsuit, Schaffel says the pop star's need to borrow money "accelerated when Jackson's increasingly more frequent excessive use of drugs and alcohol impelled him into irrational demands for large amounts of money and extravagant possessions." Schaffel claims Jackson was devastated by "Living With Michael Jackson" and asked him to oversee the creation of a rebuttal TV special that aired on Fox.

Jackson, Schaffel says, failed to pay him for his work and has failed to reimburse him for money he lent him to go on spending sprees, pay bodyguards, pay delinquent agreements to avoid lawsuits and pay friends such as the late actor Marlon Brando to appear on Jackson's TV special in the summer of 2001 and buy jewelry for Elizabeth Taylor so she would agree to sign a release agreement to appear on another TV special, "Michael Jackson's Private Home Movies."


Schaffel's lawsuit says he has had a business relationship with Jackson since 2000 and that he created Neverland Valley Entertainment with Jackson. He says he "was at all times a loyal and devoted associate and confidant" of Jackson and feels "betrayed" by the pop legend. He says Jackson stopped paying him in June 2004, as his financial representatives claimed he was broke.

Si gabriele, ma la notizia è stata riportata anche dalla ABC.com anche dall'agenzia Reuters (CLICCA).

Riassumendo, Schaffel ha presentato denuncia per non essere stato pagato:
- per i due speciali di Fox TV da lui realizzati;
- per aver anticipato soldi a bodyguard;
- per aver comprato gioelli per Liz Tylor in cambio della sua firma di approvazione per apparire nello special PHM)

Stamattina Schaffel era ospite della trasmissione "Goog Morning America" della ABC.
Il giornalista gli ha chiesto perchè ha voluto far causa a Michael, e lui ha risposto che spera di avere il pagamento.

Marc Schaffel Sues Michael Jackson For $3 Million

A former producer and business associate of Michael Jackson is suing the pop star, claiming he hasn't been paid more than $3 million in loans and producing fees.

The breach-of-contract lawsuit filed Tuesday by J. Marc Schaffel details numerous loans and payments made on Jackson's behalf, and claims the singer failed to fully pay Schaffel for his role in producing two television specials.

The specials aired on Fox early last year were intended to counter a damaging portrayal in televised interviews with British journalist Martin Bashir.

Schaffel claims in the Superior Court suit he is still owed $800,000 of the $3 million he was entitled to for producing the specials, and $2.3 million for payments and loans for Jackson over the past three years.

Schaffel said that since 2001 he made loans or payments for Jackson totaling $8.6 million, but has been repaid only $6.3 million.

In the suit, he details Jackson's eccentric requests for money, including $600,000 the singer wanted to buy a piece of jewelry for Elizabeth Taylor and $1 million to pay Marlon Brando for appearing in a Jackson concert and music video.

Schaffel said he gave Jackson at least $100,000 several times for shopping sprees, and pitched in on payments for cars including a Rolls Royce Phantom and Bentley Arnage.

Jackson also asked for and received a half-million dollars in "emergency cash" after the Sept. 11 terror attacks "in case he needed to take shelter underground somewhere with his family," according to the suit.

Jackson stopped repaying Schaffel in June 2004 when his brother Randy Jackson became the star's financial advisor, the suit claims.

The suit seeks general, special and compensatory damages totaling at least $3.1 million.
