Dopo che Michael era stato scagionato dal giudice, i famigliari dell'anziana signora morta in seguito (secondo l'accusa) ad uno spostamento d'urgenza nell'ospedale di Santa Maria per fare posto ad un Re del Pop dolorante nei primi giorni del processo, ha ritirato le accuse contro l'ospedale.

Family drops suit over Jackson hospital visit

SANTA MARIA, Calif.—The family of a woman who died at a hospital soon after she was moved to make room for Michael Jackson during his 2005 child-molestation trial has dropped a lawsuit against the medical center.
The family of Manuela Gomez Ruiz and their attorney filed papers on Aug. 19 requesting the lawsuit be dismissed, The Santa Maria Times reported Wednesday.
The case was to go to trial Oct. 27, but all future court dates have been canceled.
The Ruiz family sued Marian Medical Center in February 2007 for infliction of emotional and mental distress, claiming Ruiz, 73, was kept from critical care after a heart attack on the same day Jackson was brought in with flu-like symptoms during his trial. The lawsuit said Ruiz was moved from a double room so Jackson could occupy it by himself, and complained of an "outrageous, circus-like atmosphere" in the last hours of her life.
Court documents did not give a reason the lawsuit was dropped. A phone message left early Wednesday for family attorney James McKiernan was not immediately returned.
The family had initially sued Jackson also, but a judge dropped him from the lawsuit in April. Jackson was acquitted in the child-molestation case.
