Greg Gorman Features MJ Photo In Latest Exhibit

For more than 4 decades, photographer Greg Gorman has taken pictures of the world’s most interesting people and now, more than 125 of the iconic shots are being showcased in GREG GORMAN: A Distinct Vision 1970-2010.
Gorman recently picked out a few of his favorite shots featured in the exhibit and talked about how they happened. One of his picks is the famous headshot of Michael Jackson from 1987 with the tarantula on his face.
“Michael was a perfectionist beyond your wildest imagination,” Gorman said. “Every time we would shoot, he would call me and we’d have a two-hour conversation to discuss what it was we were going to do and how we were going to go about it.
He had pet tarantulas; they actually shed their skin. This is the casing of the tarantula that he brought with him.”
Gorman went on to say, “He never traveled with a big entourage. He was very genuine and really loved photography. I dearly miss him. He was a tragic individual but an amazing human being.”

Egli aveva delle tarantole come animali domestici; e li ha effettivamente messi sulla sua pelle. Questo è l'involucro che portava con sé la tarantola".
Gorman ha continuato a dire, "mai viaggiò con un grosso entourage. Fu molto genuino e veramente ha amato la fotografia. Mi manca teneramente. Egli era un individuo tragico, ma un essere umano incredibile."
